A quick and simple dish–but sophisticated…
Spicy Roasted Garbanzo Beans
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon cayenne  pepper ( to taste )
1/8 to 1/4 Tabasco sauce ( to taste )
2 ( 15 oz ) cans of garbanzo beans, drained and dried
Preheat oven to 400 F. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and toss to coat evenly. Transfer to a baking sheet and spread out in a single layer.  Bake for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Bloody Mary Dip 
3 cups cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup V8 juice
1/3 cup tomato puree
1 large green pepper, finely chopped and minced
1/2 cup finely minced onion
1/3 cup chopped and finely minced celery
1/3 cup mayonnaise
horseradish, lemon juice, Tabasco sauce, salt and pepper–to taste
Mix all in food processor, then add in horseradish, lemon juice, Tabasco sauce + salt and pepper to taste. Trim with a few olives. Add a dash of vodka–if wished–for authenticity.  Serve with fresh veggies, crackers or chips.  Or spread on rustic slices with a drizzle of parmesan until warm.
Cheese Sticks
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
4 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3 tablespoons sour cream

Combine dry ingredients. Cut in butter and cheese with pastry blender; stir in sour cream. Shape into a ball  and chill 2 hours. On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough 1/8-inch thick. Cut into strips 1/4-inch wide and 3 inches long. Bake at 425° for 8 minutes. ( excellent with the Bloody Mary Dip )
